Career Day held at Boikanyo Primary School

Boikanyo Primary School hosted a career day event for the learners on September 15 at Dobsonville.
The purpose of the career day was to allow learners to dress in their aspiring professional attire and present their stalls created by themselves.
The school also invited a few professionals to encourage learners to study hard and follow their dreams.

According to the principal at Boikanyo primary, Nomsa Luko, as part of the Life Orientation curriculum it is important for the school to host a career day event so that learners can be educated about all possible future careers.
“The career day programme helps a lot of learners to choose relevant subjects for their career path. Learners become more informed as they get an opportunity to interact with various professionals,” said Luko.
Through this event, the educators also wanted to raise funds in order to improve the school facilities.
“Every learner is drawn to a school that is attractive and want to attend it, so one of our biggest aims is to create a model c school facility,” said Head of Department, Tshifiwa Thouhakale.

He also added that fighting certain social issues and building a better future for the learners will be made possible by structuring and assistin
g them in understanding various career opportunities.
“From today’s programme I have learned that anything is possible and if I work and study hard, I can choose whatever career I love. I hope the information I learned today will help me prepare for the future,” said a Grade Seven learner, Thuto Mpuri.
