SAMA announces the nominees and KwaZulu Natal will serve as the awards host
During the nominee announcement, it was confirmed that the South African Music Awards will be based in KwaZulu Natal for the next three years.
The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) unveiled the final nominations for this year’s awards on October 03 at Jabulani Soweto Theatre.
The main event will be hosted on a two day exposition between November 17 and 18 in KwaZulu Natal.

Addressing the media at the SAMA nominees’ announcement party, KZN MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Siboniso Duma said the KwaZulu Natal provincial government was very excited to be hosting the SAMA29.

“We have no doubt the entire tourism industry and other sectors of our economy will be stimulated. We are looking forward to hosting thousands of music lovers. Tourist will visit our province ahead of the SAMAs and during the event itself, rest assured you will be warm enough, you’ll be welcomed and enjoy what’s on the ground,” said Duma.

During the nominee announcement, it was confirmed that the South African Music Awards will be based in KwaZulu Natal for the next three years.
The late rapper, Kiernan AKA Forbes is mostly nominated leading with seven nods, while K.O is the second most nominated artist with six nods.

Sjava got four nominations while and Amapiano, artists Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa also earned four and three nominations apiece. The latter also received two nods for their collaboration as Scorpion Kings.
