Local residents invited on a journey of getting close to God
"All they usually see in the church is elderly people. Therefore, we as a team are dedicated to breaking the stigma that you need to be old to serve God.”
The Vital Revival, a local Christian community is inviting residents to be part of their weekly bible sessions aimed at forming a close relationship with God.
The group was established in June 2023 by Tyrese Human and Le-Je Jevan, who serve as the team members for the Western Cape and Gauteng region respectively.
They will now be focusing on Eldorado Park after noting various challenges that the community is facing such as the increasing use of drugs, crime and violence.

According to one of the team members, Tyrese Human, their goal as a Christian community is to bring people close to God and create a platform where they can be comfortable expressing themselves and growing in their faith.

‘With our weekly bible sessions that we host via live videos on social media platforms, we share encouragement and engage with participants in bible reading plans.
“This is because we wish to model and influence a healthy way of life within Christians as stipulated in the bible a well as to serve as a reliable crutch to people within our communities,” Human said.
He added that throughout the year they will also be focusing on a variety of in-person projects, mainly running from the end of January, where they will have their first preaching event at a school in Eldorado Park.
“Our vision for 2024 entails frequent prayer meetings, events such as worship evenings or in-person bible studies wherein people can meet other Christians to aid them in accountability within their faith, hospital visits wherein we can minister, encourage and pray over patients, and a variety of charity drives throughout the year, dependent on the growth of Vital Revival.”

“One of the reasons why we will be focusing on this specific community is because most of our team members grew up there and the circumstances were not best, so as young believers, it was hard for them to find a community where they truly fit.
