Pimville man dies after his home caught fire

“We need in the community those that are able to help out where they can following this ordeal that has happened to the Chidi family."

A house in Pimville Zone 6 caught fire leaving the family in destitute after one of their own, a 56-year-old man was consumed by the flame during the early hours of Monday morning last week.

The family believes that the cause of the fire might have been the heavy rains and the issue of electricity around this area.

The deceased lived alone in his house and was alone during the incident.

“We need in the community those that are able to help out where they can following this ordeal that has happened to the Chidi family.

“Because we do not know, this could happen to anyone and as the community it is our duty to come through for each other,” said Ndlovu.

The Chidi family is seeking assistance from the community and Ward Cllr for the burial of their family member.

They are hoping to bury him on Friday or on Monday because they do not want the deceased to remain in mortuary for too long due to his condition.

“We would like the Cllr to assist us with the burial and if it’s possible for them to assist with groceries and clothes because we lost everything in the fire,” Chidi concluded.
