The Boys FC ladies crushed in league clash
Tiffany Scott led the scoreboard with a brace for Ipswich Town FC after she scored in the only two games of the match.
The absence of The Boys FC players compromised the team’s performance resulting in a three-point loss during the U15 Eldorado Local Football Association Girls League fixture at EXT 2, Eldorado Park Soccer Field, on July 13.
With gaps on the three positions, The Boys FC lost 2 – 1 against Ipswich Town FC in their ninth league clash.
Sifiso Tetwayo said they had a good game, even though he often felt like they could have done much better considering that the opponents were three players short.

“But anyway, I cannot blame them; they are still on that learning curve. They are getting there.

“The more time they spend practicing the more they will improve. You can see that in their 20s they will be good players.”
He said this was the first year some of the players were playing soccer, most of them never played soccer.

According to Coach Adiel van Stevel of The Boys, they were playing short because they fielded seven players against 11.
He said some of their players had to go to school, and that this was not an exclusive challenge for the club but it a general challenge with female players.

However, he said the club will seek solutions, he urged parents to allow children to participate in sports as it instils discipline which will benefit them in the long run.
Van Stevel further noted that the club plays a vital role in keeping children away from the streets but development is equally important, despite the fact that not all of them will play professionally.
“I think we are currently on 21 points sitting on the second position. The difference between us and the league leaders is the goal difference,” said van Stevel.
