Usindiso Primary School hosted a market day on September 6 at Zondi.
The event showcased the entrepreneurial skills of the Grade Seven learners and allowed them to be creative.
Usindiso Primary School principal, Eunice Maphosa, said the goal of the day was to impart to learners how to enjoy themselves while working productively and serving customers like entrepreneurs.

“We know not all learners are academically gifted. Some are business-minded, while others are gifted in sports.
“Through these kinds of activities, teachers can assess each learner’s talents and abilities and provide them with an opportunity to excel in an area they are well-suited for,’’ she said.
She added these activities are essential for learners to learn because the skills they acquire will be useful in the future, especially given the lack of job prospects and the high unemployment rate in our nation.
During the market day, learners set up market stalls where they sold a range of creative goods and services.
Speaking to the media, a parent who attended the event, Ntombi Radebe said it was their first time attending an event such as the market day at Usindiso and were grateful for the opportunity their children are receiving.
