Eldorado Park police holds productive meeting with second-hand goods dealers and liquor traders.

The Eldorado Park police’s Flash Unit, led by Captain Marlen Reddy, convened a successful meeting with second-hand goods shop owners and liquor traders today, November 22 at the Eldorado Park Boardroom.

This gathering aimed to strengthen collaboration between local businesses and law enforcement to combat crime.

The first segment spoke to second-hand goods compliance with discussions focused on:

* Compliance of dealers: Ensuring second-hand goods dealers adhere to regulations

* Renewal of certificates: Streamlining the renewal process for second-hand goods certificates
* Donations: Exploring ways to give back to the community

The second segment dealt with liquor outlet compliance, and the subsequent session addressed:

* Compliance of liquor outlets: Ensuring liquor traders meet legal requirements
* Opening and closing times: Establishing clear guidelines for operational hours
* Responsible liquor sales: Educating traders on prohibited sales to minors, pregnant women, police, military, and security personnel
* Festive season operations: Guidance on safe and responsible liquor outlet management during holidays

Communication officer Sergeant Fezeka Khobo expressed optimism about the meeting’s outcome.
