“Participants must be selfless, have high interest in working with the community of Soweto, so basically the winner will be more of a mother figure to the residents of Soweto,’’ explains the founder of the pageant, Fikile Motaung.

“The pageant is offering various workshops to make sure that the finalists are well equipped and ready to face the world.

“Life coaching, health and wellness, modelling, public speaking and entrepreneurship is some of the guidance offered at the workshop,’’ she said.

The pageant has sponsors on board, which are mostly local brands or companies, but they still need more sponsors to help with things such as make-up, decor, photography, hampers, vouchers, or goodie bags.

They also need assistance with buying sashes, crowns, and t-shirts.
