“From being diagnosed at 32, I never thought I would reach 60 years. I have faced so much stigma and discrimination because of my status and at some point, I thought of ending my life because of this,” Sebesho said.
She added because of the depression and stress she endured because of her status, she started drinking and smoking excessively.
“Through all the hardships I faced, I still could dust off myself and move forward.
“The local support groups in SANDF also assisted me in the various areas I was deployed. I met other people living with HIV who assisted me in accepting my status.”

The mother of three and now a grandmother was described as a giving person who encourages the spirit of sharing.
When speaking about Sebesho during his speech, a former member of parliament, Kenny Motsamai, said they spent years with her as friends and she taught them to remain positive and prioritise their families.
