No action taken yet against Thulani Secondary teacher accused of bullying
Despite several complaints and reports to the principal, no meaningful action has addressed the issue.

It has been over a month since a learner reported bullying by a teacher at Thulani Secondary School in Dobsonville to the Mofolo South Youth Forum (MSYF).
Despite several complaints and reports to the principal, no meaningful action has addressed the issue.
It is alleged that two learners entered a class one morning to drop off a timetable for another learner. As they exited, a teacher asked one what their physical sciences mark was.

When the learner responded, the teacher disparaged their performance and physical appearance in front of the class.
According to Xolani Madiba, the founder of MSYF, he called the deputy principal to ask for a meeting on February 7.
There, he, the learner and the deputy spoke about the matter and called the teacher in question.
Upon her arrival, they told her why they had called her. She denied the accusations and said the learner had lied, so two learners were called, who confirmed that the teacher was rude to the learner.

Madiba stressed that the teacher had not shown remorse whatsoever and used reverse psychology on the kids.
In the meeting with the deputy, it was agreed that the teacher would apologise to the learners in front of the class but the teacher never did.
Bullying can damage one’s self-esteem and mental health.
The MSYF believes the school has not taken this matter seriously and wants the Department of Basic Education to investigate.
