Soweto school dance competition offers R10 000 grand prize
The Inhlakanipho School Dance Competition aims to empower learners and boost creative arts through a high-energy final showdown.
LMG Records is proud to announce the launch of their Inhlakanipho School Dance Competition, a CSI initiative dedicated to empowering learners, strengthening school pride, and uplifting the creative arts in Soweto.
The competition will see Soweto schools that made it to the top ten battle it out for a R10 000 cash prize on May 1.
To be part of the competition, learners were required to register online and submit a two minutes video of them dancing at the Inhlakanipho School Dance Competition website.

Celiwe Kumalo of Inhlakanipho School Dance Competition said that over 200 learners directly benefited in the pilot stage of the competition.
“The prize must be used by the school towards a creative arts project, ensuring the impact lasts beyond the stage. We also encourage business owners around the area to come on board and assist us with funds that we can use towards the dance competition.
“We believe that not all learners are built only for academics; we therefore use this platform to sharpen their dance skills and even discover them,” Kumalo said.

She added that residents can support the program by being part of the main day of the competition.
“Arts is a beautiful concept. It gives learners an opportunity to express themselves through dance, be empowered and discover their stance in the industry. We look forward to the dance of the competition and hope that it will yield great results for the community of Soweto.”
