The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the payment schedule for August social grants, including a dedicated fourth payment day for beneficiaries whose grants are currently under review.

Older Persons Grants will be paid from Tuesday, August 4, followed by Disability Grants on Wednesday, August 5, and Children’s Grants on Thursday, August 6.

SASSA has introduced Friday, August 7, as a fourth payment day for beneficiaries whose grants have been flagged for review.

According to SASSA Gauteng senior manager for communications Lungelo Mkamba, affected beneficiaries must visit their nearest SASSA office before the 18th day of the following month to complete the review process.

He said beneficiaries will be required to submit supporting documents, including proof of income, proof of marital status and any other documentation needed to confirm their continued eligibility for social assistance.

Mkamba urged beneficiaries not to delay the process.

“Beneficiaries whose grants are selected for review must act promptly and provide the necessary documentation. This process is vital to ensure that grants are paid to the right person, at the right time, and in the right place,” he said.

SASSA encouraged beneficiaries to take note of the payment dates and comply with review requirements to avoid delays or interruptions to their grants.
