“I have always been passionate and had a love for art, music, and film.
“I gained analytical and decision making skills during my years of studying Multimedia and working in the media industry, which required time management, planning, goal setting, team work, determination and perseverance,” Maboko said.
He worked as an intern editor at Mannequin Picture/Films before establishing his own multimedia and publishing company, Director Maboko in 2017.
“I have been equipped with different communication skills, creative thinking, and ability to work with anyone despite their race or religion.
“I’ve got innovative ideas and absolute unwavering passion for art, design, film production, music,” he continued.
Maboko also explained that being an entrepreneur and a creative in South Africa is challenging and there is limited access to funding.

Also, the fact that there is still limited access to internet connection results in slow growth of small companies.
“We are living in a digital era, Africa needs to learn to support by subscribing to creators’ channels on YouTube, getting used to streaming music, stream videos online from legit platforms that helps creators to earn,” said Maboko.
Enjoying and having passion for something is the best career choice. Maboko’s fondest memory was back in 2014 when he got an opportunity to work on his first official music video with a Tanzanian songwriter, singer, and multiple award-winning artist Bushoke featuring South African songwriter-singer L.O.S for a song titled Mr Dj.
Maboko continued to say that as a young person having that opportunity of working in a room with the best of people who have more experience in the field, got him more interested to learn on how each individual works and get exposed to how the industry operates.

His motivation to young people is to never underrate themselves.
“You need to invest in your craft, persevere, research and learn more of your passion. Do not give up on your dreams and strive to empower yourselves and also others,” concluded Maboko.
