Orlando Business Forum hosts workshop

The aim of the event was to introduce the forum’s new portfolios which are Tourism, Property, Cooperative Retail and Impact Capital Investment as well as to lift up businesses.

The Chairperson of the Orlando East Business Forum Innovation, Enoch Ndlovu hosted a workshop at the YMCA Hall in Orlando East on March 20.

The aim of the event was to introduce the forum’s new portfolios which are Tourism, Property, Cooperative Retail and Impact Capital Investment as well as to lift up businesses to grow the economy through mentorship.

This workshop was attended by members of the forum who have businesses in the fields of construction, plumbing, hair and beauty, restaurants and a whole lot more.

“Let’s have unity and a working together kind of a relationship to help each other grow. If all of us comply there’s no way the government can challenge us.

“We will be the ones to challenge the government with our works as a forum and the profits we will generate within our businesses,” Ndlovu emphasized.

He also explained the importance of compliance, unity and commitment amongst local businesses and mentioned that starting from this month there will be monthly tourism events that will be taking place to support businesses within the forum.

Ndlovu also explained how these monthly events will benefit the local market by making profit for the businesses so they don’t rely on funding from outside investors.

Zethu Ndlangamandla, a financial service provider was the guest speaker for the day. He spoke on the impact of investments and tax returns.

“Invest in the start-up of businesses, it becomes easier for you as a person and a business to be aware and use your taxes to invest. Having invested in your business will help with strengthening of the business and reduces the chances of it failing due to lack of funds,” Ndlangamandla said.

“When you become bankable you become taxable and when you are taxable you become investable,” added Lambeni Foxo, the programme director for the day and a member of the business forum.

Toby Chance, an entrepreneur was also present at the event spoke of how the forum needs to work together to fight challenges faced by local businesses.

He also gifted the business forum with a brand new laptop to help them do their projects without having to rely on internet cafes.
