Springs Tigers Football Club enjoys successful weekend with four victories

Club founder Shalom Mazibuko praised the players' commitment after another successful weekend of youth football action.

The Springs Tigers Football Club enjoyed a successful weekend on the football field, with four of their five teams securing victories in their respective fixtures.

The club’s founder, Shalom Mazibuko, said the number of games was small due to the school holidays.

The U7 L3 side produced an impressive performance to beat Edenvale 4-1 at their home ground at the Selpark Primary School sports ground, while the U8 team matched that scoreline in an away game with a convincing 4-1 victory over Serengeti.

The U11s were involved in the match of the day at home on Saturday, edging Old Bens 6-5 in a thrilling, high-scoring contest.

Mazibuko shared that the club’s U17 side continued their fine form with a commanding 4-1 win over Pitso Mosimane Football Club in an away game in Boksburg, rounding off an excellent weekend for the club.

The only setback came in the U7 L2 fixture on Friday (June 3), where the young Tigers narrowly lost 2-1 to Benoni Northerns.

Mazibuko said that despite the result, the team’s fighting spirit and effort were praised, with encouragement to keep working hard as their development continues.

“The results reflect another positive weekend for Springs Tigers as the club’s young players continue to gain valuable experience and produce encouraging performances across all age groups,” concluded the founder.
