Springs man dies in N1 accident
A Springs resident who was driving on the N1 on Friday night was killed as he was thrown from his car after trying to avoid rocks in the road.

Errol Thomson (64) who was driving his 4×4 with his wife Cathy van Heerden in the passenger seat on the N1 near the Rand Airport offramp, was flung out of his car and was declared dead on the scene.
According to Media and PR Liason for the EMPD, Thabiso Makgato, Thomson hit rocks that were lying in the road, he then lost control of the car and overturned it, hitting into the barriers on the highway.
His wife, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to Life the Glynnwood Hospital in Benoni.
“EMPD has issued a statement saying that motorists must be especially careful at night time as some people put rocks on the freeway in an attempt to highjack cars,” said Makgato.
