Helping those who help others

The paediatric ward as well as some nurses offices at Far East Rand Hospital (FERH) received renovations from the supply and logistics company Supergroup from Isando in aid of Mandela Day.

Marketing Manager of the company, Stephanie Fourie, said that they do charity work every year for Mandela Day.

“This year we did a lot of research into what different charities needed and after coming out to the FERH it was clear that they needed help and that we could provide that help for them”.

The company, with the support from various sponsors, renovated and painted the children’s wards, the children’s bathrooms as well as the kitchen for the nurses and the matron’s office.

Fifteen staff members from Supergroup helped in creating a bright and happy facility for the sick children, with each member also donating a teddy bear to the children.

The company also hired a clown to entertain the children for the day.

“We are happy to be making a difference in both the nurses and the children’s lives,” said Stephanie.
