According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, the case was finally closed in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court last Monday after more than three years.
He says Yokwana brutally murdered a teacher in February 2010 in Wright Park and used the victim’s car to flee the scene.
“The court found him guilty of murder, armed robbery, reckless driving and possession of a stolen car,” says Capt Ramphora.
Yokwana received a life sentence for the murder, 15 years for armed robbery and two years for reckless driving and possession of a stolen car. These sentences will run concurrently.
