Help save a life
Support The Sunflower Fund National Bandana Day on October 12 and share a little happiness.
Buy a bandana and support The Sunflower Fund.
Buy your bandana from Pick n Pay for only R25 and you could help save a life. Smart shoppers stand the chance to win one of five R10 000 or one of five iPads if they swipe their card when buying a bandana (for terms and conditions, visit www.picknpay.co.za).
This is just another way the public can make a big difference in the lives of patients diagnosed with leukaemia and other life threatening blood disorders.
All funds raised through this campaign will allow The Sunflower Fund to share a little happiness by being able to recruit and test many more bone marrow stem cell donors onto the SA Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR).
The Sunflower Fund’s work has seen the Registry grow from a mere 800 donors in 2000 to more than 65 500 registered donors today.
“This is an achievement, however it’s only the tip of the iceberg, we need to continue our quest and build the SABMR into a database which has at least 400 000 people registered,” says Tina Botha, founder-director of The Sunflower Fund.
“Like a perennial sunflower, these bandanas are back in full force every October, blooming bright to remind us all that there are people less fortunate than ourselves who continuously fight against this disease.”
