Ekurhuleni triathlon excitment
Get your entries in for the inaugural Ekurhuleni 5150 African Championship which will take place on November 3 at the Germiston Lake.

The triathlon is the first being held in Ekurhuleni and consists of a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycle and 10 km run. The course starts and finishes at the newly revamped Germiston Lake Park.-
The exhilarating race will take the athletes on a one lap swim, one lap bike ride and two lap run and has the potential to become Africa’s biggest mass participation triathlons. –
“Hosting the 5150 African Championship in the City of Ekurhuleni provides our local athletes the opportunity to race in an international event with the prize money and slots previously only available at events abroad,” said 5150 Triathlon South Africa Race Director, Werner Smit. –
The opportunity to gain 1500 Hy-Vee 5150 US Champs ranking points for first place and 10 Hy-Vee 5150 US Champs qualifying slots for each gender and age group sets the race up to become one of the country’s most sought-after standard distance triathlons. –
The Ekurhuleni 5150 African Championships is open to all tri-athletes 18 years and older and no pre qualification is required for this year’s race. Team entries are also welcome, and all members of a team should be 16 years or older to participate. –
There is only one month left until entries close on September 30. General entry costs R800 + R20 EasyReg Fee and team entries cost R1200 + R30 EasyReg Fee. –
