According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, a security guard was on duty in the guardroom when a robber walked in armed with an iron rod.
The robber ordered the victim not to look at him and then tied the victim’s hands with his own shoelaces.
The robber fled the scene with the victim’s cellphone.
“The victim heard a voice outside of the guardroom and was relieved when Chubb Security entered and freed him,” says Capt Ramphora.
The victim went to investigate and saw a broken window where the robber gained entry to the premises.
It is not sure what was stolen.
No arrests have been made.
