Students doing their part

The induction of the Rotary Interact Club at Springs Boy's High was held recently at the school.

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people aged 14 and 18 years. It is run along the same principals as all Rotary clubs and all Interact clubs are sponsored by a Rotary Club so the standards and ethics of the Rotary organisation are upheld.

Rotarians also offer guidance and assistance to the Interactors.

“Interact is an opportunity for young people to get involved in helping their community, developing their leadership skills and making a difference in the world, ” says Cheryl Havenga of the Rotary Club in Springs.

Havenga says Springs has not had an Interact club in some time, so the Rotary club is very excited to see the younger generation getting involved again.

“We hope the Interact Club at Springs Boy’s High will be the first of many clubs at local schools.”
