Selfless actions

A Christmas party for children from the Hope Orphanage Shelter in Kingsway was organised and hosted by a selfless teenager who loves children.

Chané Groenewald (16), who helps with the Santa Shoe Box project decided to throw a Christmas party for the children of an orphanage.

Driving past the Hope orphanage with her mother, she said she would like to do something for the children.

“She organised the whole event herself. She got sponsors from friends, family and some companies for the gifts and did absolutely everything herself,” says her mother Catrina.

In each gift, there was some clothing, a toy and some stationary for each child that was at the party.

After getting their presents, the children were treated to party packs and something to drink.

“The day went very well. ChanĂ© learnt a few things from organising this and we will definitely do more for the Hope orphanage in the future.”
