This aims to help parents or carers get information about lost or missing children to the widest sector of the community in the shortest possible time in the hopes of finding the child in question as soon as possible.
The protocol involves five easy to follow steps:
- Don’t wait 24 hours.
- Complete SAPS 55 form at your nearest police station.
- Contact MCSA on 072 647 7464.
- Send MCSA the following information: name of the missing child, age, situation surrounding the missing child, case number, SAPS details including the name of the officer who assisted you, most recent photo of the child. This information can be emailed to info@missingchildren.org.za or fax 0860 580 3310.
- Keep MCSA updated on the progress of the case.
MCSA will distribute case-related information to the province and even nationally if necessary.
MCSA will keep both the family of the missing child and the SAPS up to date on any relevant information and leads it obtains.
