House robbed in Bakerton

Two men gained access to a house through an open window to rob the residents.

On Friday at 3:45am, a man was asleep in his room and his sister in her bedroom, when he was woken up by a noise at his window.

“He got up to investigate, but found two armed men already in the room,” says W/O Amanda Greybe, Springs police spokesman.

The man started screaming for help, but the robbers who were armed with knives, ordered him to keep quiet.

The victim’s sister heard her brother screaming and ran to his room just to find him with the two robbers.

“Both victims tried to escape by running away, but were caught by the armed men, who then hit the man with a hard object on his hand,” W/O adds Greybe.

When caught they forced both victims back into the house, took the man to his bedroom, but took his sister with them while taking various items from the different rooms.

The robbers took off with two TVs, a notepad, BlackBerry, a wallet and an HP laptop.

The man went to the neighbour’s house to contact the police.

No arrests have been made.
