A business was robbed in First Avenue, Springs CBD on Friday.
At 4.30pm a man was still at work when he saw two men entering the workshop.
According to Springs Police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, one robber asked the man where the owner of the shop was.
“The victim explained the owner was not at work, but the robber then stated he will go look for the owner himself,” says Capt Ramphora.
The victim followed the robber, who turned around and grabbed him by the throat.
The other robber, who was still standing at the entrance of the workshop then entered and took a laptop.
Capt Ramphora adds both men ran out of the shop leaving the victim behind.
No arrests have been made.
* A hijacking took place in Pigeon Avenue, Selection Park on Sunday.
At 9.30am a man stopped in front of the gate at his house, got out of his car to open the gate, leaving the motor running.
Capt Ramphora says when the man returned to his vehicle he noticed a car pulling up behind his silver grey Hyundi Atos Prime.
Two men got out of their vehicle and one robber got into driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle, while the other pointed a firearm at the victim.
“The robber ordered the man to lie on the ground and searched his pockets,” says Capt Ramphora.
The second robber took the victim’s wallet, got into the other car and both vehicles drove off.
No shots were fired and no arrests have been made.

* A 37-year-old man was found murdered in Fluoride Street in Daggafontein.
Capt Ramphora says a community member came across the body of a man with a stab wound in the neck and phoned the paramedics.
“When the paramedics arrived they declared the man dead on the scene,” he adds.
In the meantime the community member started questioning the crowd that gathered at the scene and when the police arrived he informed the officer there had been a fight between the deceased and his neighbour.
The community identified the deceased but did not know what the argument was about.
The police arrested a 21-year-old man and he will appear in court soon.
