Love your animals

Springs SPCA inspector Graham Wesseloo received an emergency call about a dog tied up on Paul Kruger Highway on January 15.

“Upon arrival I found a big brown dog lying on the side of the road with its back feet bound so tightly and for so long that the feet had swollen, and they were bleeding and oozing,” says Graham.

He adds there was also a rope around the dog’s neck and marks on the dogs neck.

I took the dog to the vet immediately, but unfortunately due to the seriousness of the injuries, the dog was euthanased.

“This kind of cruelty is uncalled for, unnecessary and should not be tolerated by the community of Springs.

“There is no excuse, as the SPCA is just down the road, and it will not turn away anybody who no longer wants or can care for their animal,” adds Graham.

The SPCA asks anybody saw anything or heard anything about who could have done this terrible thing, to contact the them on 082 668 5230 or 087 940 2831.
