Protea comes first

Wynandus Bezuidenhout, principal of Protea School in Springs, has congratulated his matric class of 2013 for helping the school achieve its 14th consecutive 100% pass rate in the National Senior Certificate Examination.

“We are blessed to obtain the first position for LSEN Schools in the District Gauteng East and second position for LSEN Schools in the entire Gauteng Province,” Bezuidenhout boasts.

This result is also remarkable, bearing in mind that Protea’s pupils experience specific learning and neurological barriers to learning, but were able to write the full complement of seven subjects.

Among the class of 35 matriculants, 11 qualified for bachelors entry courses and 24 qualified for diploma entry courses.

“We also had six subjects distinctions, 16 Bs and 66 C subject averages.

“We pay tribute to determined and dedicated staff and learners for their contribution to this wonderful achievement,” says Bezuidenhout.
