ATM bombing in Geduld

The Absa ATM on Fourth Avenue in Geduld was bombed on Friday morning.

Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says according to a witness, the ATM was bombed by three of five suspects.

He says the suspects arrived on the scene in a navy blue BMW and a silver BMW.

Ramphora says the witness told the police that two suspects who were wearing overalls, bullet proof clothing and armed with firearms, jumped out of one of the cars and went to a parking area, while the other three suspects went straight to the ATM and bombed it.

He says the witness says the suspects then fled the scene without cash.

Ramphora says no arrests have been made and the police appeal to the community to come forward with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
