Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says the hijacking happened around 10am. He says the victim explained that the driver of a Polo Vivo, who was following him, tried to communicate with him using motorists’ signs and he slowed down before pulling off the road.
He says the victim added that when the driver of the Polo stopped near him, the car that was driving in front of him also stopped and two suspects from both cars jumped into his car and drove off with him.
He says the victim was dropped off near Brakpan by the suspects, who drove off with his car. A case of hijacking was opened by the Brakpan police.
No-one has been arrested yet and the police urges anyone with information that may lead to the suspects’ arrest, to contact their nearest police station or phone the crime stop line on 10111.
