A change is needed

This will better the prepaid vending system

Many Springs residents had their hands in their hair trying to load prepaid vouchers.

In an article ‘Prepaid woes for residents’ (Advertiser, May 8) reported the prepaid system was off last weekend.

In reaction to a question send to Ekurhuleni metro they responded a critical change needed to be made in the vending system resulting in a number of customers requiring key change tokens for their meters.

Thembe Gadebe, metro spokesman, says measures were put in place to assist the customers who did not receive the key change tokens through certain of the third party vending outlets.

The Addie was inundated with calls of people wanting to know where to obtain these key change tokens.

One of these online voucher purchasers Christiaan van Wyngaard, purchased a voucher online and his meter would not take the voucher.

Gadebe says affected customers who purchased online EFT vouchers and did not receive their key change tokens with their electricity voucher can phone Zaineb Cajee on 011 999 8546 to ask for the key change token.

He adds, with regard to the people who experienced problems loading electricity vouchers, a critical change needed to be made on the vending system.

“Any inconvenience experienced by customers is regretted,” he says.

He adds the call centre is operational and appeals to customers to be patient when contacting the call centre on 086 054 3000.
