A man and woman were robbed and the woman was raped on Friday.
The incident happened at 6.10pm. While they were looking for scrap in an open field in Dersley, they were approached by two men.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says one robber pulled out a knife and ordered the man to give him his watch, cell phone and car keys.
During this time, the other robber took the woman to another spot where he raped her.
Ramphora says this man came back with the woman and tied up both victims’ hands and feet before they left in their vehicle with the stolen goods.
A passer-by came to their rescue and called the police.
Ramphora adds that the police requests the community to assist them in finding the two robbers.
