Breakfast in Bed Competition was held

Springs resident Johan Ludick, Thys de Preez from Kempton Park and Clyde Meela from Benoni recently participated in the Breakfast in Bed Competition that was held at Hirsch’s Meadowdale on May 11.

The three contestants battled against each other to see who would be crowned as the best breakfast chef for the day.

Tommy Dickson from Weber and Steven Jagga from Rest Assured were the judges.

Ludick came in first place, he won a Rest Assured bed and a His and Her’s cookbook.

“Ludick made the best omelettes I have ever tasted,” said Dickson

Meela came in second place. He walked away with a Russell Hobbs Stick Blender, a His and Her’s cookbook and a R200 voucher.

De Preez walked away with the third place position; he won a R400 Hirsch’s voucher and a His and Her’s cookbook.

De Preez, Ludick and Meela also received DeLonghi aprons.

“All the contestants were five star chefs when they presented their meals to us,” concluded Dickson.
