Eskom working to restore power

Power may only be restored to parts of Springs after 48 hours.

The Ekurhuleni metro has issued a statement that they are aware of the current power supply outage in parts of the area and are attending to it.

Following Thursday night’s theft of the 132 kV Eskom tower of steel elements, the Springs CBD and industrial area lost power supply at about 2am this morning.

Subsequently, the power interruption affected Pollak Park, Fulcrum, New Era, Krugerus, Dal Fouche and Reedville.

Eskom Engineers are currently working on site.

It is estimated that the power supply will be fully restored after 48 hours due to the extent of the damage.

The metro apologises for the inconvenience caused and reminds customers to treat the electricity network points as electrically live at all times.
