Authorities mobilise specialised units after a security patrol discovers a victim near Rhokana Road.
Gauteng police commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni is on his way to Springs, where a body was discovered today (September 27).
Springs police responded to the scene at about 12:00 after the body was found in an open veld near Rhokana Road, according to SAPS.
Police have not disclosed the gender of the body.
A security company vehicle patrolling the area saw the body and alerted the police.
All necessary role-players have been mobilised, including the task team investigating the Ekurhuleni murder cases, crime scene management, investigative psychology services, detectives and crime intelligence.
