Two men aged 52 and 39 years old were arrested in Geduld on Wednesday around 11am.
Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police confirms that the suspects who robbed a woman at the Springs CBD after pretending to be prophets, were arrested.
He says the suspects robbed their victim of her cell phone a few days ago.
Ramphora adds that after praying for the woman, they instructed her to go and buy snuff and that she should leave her cell phone with them.
“When the woman came back, the suspects were nowhere to be found,” says Ramphora.
He says the suspects were then arrested in Geduld after the woman recognised them and called the police.
They have been charged with theft of a cell phone and are expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
