An Addie journalist visited the office, but no one was prepared to talk to her as they were not sure what was going on themselves.
This is after the Addie reported in April that these two sections had received a notice to vacate a portion of the building.
The Automatic Fingerprint Identification System, Fingerprints, fingerprint and photographic sections have been operating in the Alfa Romeo Building office in Fifth Avenue, for years.
Notice was allegedly given to vacate the office on Friday.
It is believed the issue involves a lease agreement dispute between the owner of the building and the Department of Public Works.
The owner allegedly gave notice as he received no rent from the department.
Eight people were allegedly moved into one office which can only accommodate six people.
The Addie was informed in April that further information would be available on request, pending the outcome of the investigation on the lease agreement.
But after a request was sent to the Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, a week ago, the Local Criminal Record Centre did not respond.
No comment was received at the time of going to press.
