More potholes than tarred road

Railway Avenue in Welgedacht is fast becoming impossible for motorists to use, due to all the potholes.

The almost 1km road barely has any good tar left to drive on.

The potholes are getting bigger and bigger and when it rains it gets worse.

When the metro’s roads department workers were doing maintenance work in Welgedacht recently, a resident Johan Prinsloo asked them when they would fix the potholes in Railway Avenue.

They allegedly said to him the road needs to be re-tarred completely.

Prinsloo explains, the metro can at least attempt to fill the potholes with soil and gravel, even if they cannot re-tar the road.

He believes Welgedacht is becoming another forgotten suburb of Springs.

No comment was received from the metro at the time of going to press.
