Draw the paper’s final front page of the year

The end of the year is fast approaching and each year we toil about what photo to use on the front page of the Addie.

Should it be a Father Christmas, a pile of gifts, pretty lights or candles?

This year we have decided to let our readers decide what they would like the last issue of the year’s front page to look like.

How?

Simple create your ideal front page – either in a painting or drawing.

The winning poster will be selected to appear on the front page on December 18 with the artist credited.

The two runners-up will also have their work featured in the paper.

Terms and Conditions

  • Art must either be drawn or painted and all paintings must be completely dry when they are submitted or treated to ensure the medium does not smudge when scanned for the paper.
  • All artwork must be original and drawn or painted by the person credited as the artist.
  • The piece must be no larger than A3 and should be landscape-orientated rather than portrait-shaped.
  • The artist is free to decide on the subject matter with the only stipulations being that it must be suitable for publication in a family newspaper and the theme must be Christmas.
  • You are free to interpret the theme as you please but pictures deemed inappropriate will be discarded.
  • The picture will not be returned to the artist.
  • The Springs Advertiser and Caxton Community Newspapers will not pay for the artwork and will reserve the right to use the picture in the future.

Submission

  • All work must be submitted by noon on December 5 to Samantha Keogh.
  • Art must be dropped at our offices at 48 5th Avenue, Springs CBD.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
