Their care giver Alida Brits, had to make a plan to enlarge their area.
They have a koi pond which they emptied recently and decided to fill it up with water for there feathered babies.
Hennie Brits, Alida’s husband, bought wired mesh to close the area off.
Alida says they enjoy the water during the day, but still sleeps inside a wooden cage that Hennie made for protection against the cold.
This area is much bigger than the smaller cage, which they had to move around on the lawn for the little ones the eat the grass.
She says they are like little weed eaters and keep the grass short.
