Charities benefit from Christmas cakes
Once a year members of the SA Sugar Decorated Guild Springs’ afternoon branch, bake and decorate Christmas Cakes.
This year is not different and on Saturday the members of the club handed over the beautifully Christmas theme decorated cakes to various charities at a function held at St Michael’s Presbyterian Church, CBD.
The 18 women and one man were divided into teams of two who had to bake a fruit cake each and decorate it.
The cakes will be auctioned by each charity and the proceeds will be used where necessary.
The charities who received the cakes include the Nigel SPCA, Vita Nova Centre, Hospice East Rand and Springs, Esda Old Age Home, Brakpan and Benoni Rotary Clubs and the Murial Brand School.
Bridgette received a personal invite and enjoyed tea and eats with the guests.
