A SAPS crime prevention official was on patrol in the Everest, Bakerton area at 4pm, when he was stopped by members of the public informing him of the body laying at the side of the road.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says when the man arrived at the scene, he found the bloodied body of a man.
An ambulance arrived and the man was declared dead on the scene.
Ramphora says the man had several stab wounds all over his body.
According to a witness, the victim was stabbed by two men during a robbery.
Two men aged 18 and 19 years were arrested on the same day and one of the knives used during the crime was recovered.
These two men are being kept in the Springs police cells until their court appearance.
