A sector one SAPS police vehicle was patrolling the area when they received a complaint of two men fighting.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the fighting took place on the corner of Eighth Street, and Zig Zag Road, CBD.
When the police arrived on the scene they found a man lying in a pool of blood.
The paramedics declared the man dead on the scene.
Ramphora says a witness says the two men were fighting and one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times before he ran away.
No arrests have been made.
