An employee and two of his co-workers went to a bank nearby to get change for the butchery.
On their way back, the driver of the vehicle parked in front of the entrance of the butchery.
Hannes Pretorius one of the co-workers, says it was then that they noticed a silver BMW with four occupants stopped next to their them.
He suggested they put the money in a trolley before taking it into the store.
When he touched one of the trolleys at the store entrance someone grabbed him from behind.
A struggle started, but because the robber was armed, Pretorius obeyed the robber’s orders to go outside and lay down next to his colleague.
The colleague was already on the ground with another robber pointing a gun at him.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the other co-worker was standing next to the car with the money inside the vehicle.
He says two unarmed robbers loaded the cash into the BMW.
They drove off leaving the two men on the ground.
It is believed the robbers took the employee’s car keys with them.
No shots were fire and no arrests have been made.
