Sushi master, AllenWu of Macau Cuisine provided a recipe and showed the Addie how easy it is to make healthy sushi.
Ingredients:
- Sheets of seaweed
- Cooked prawns
- Thinly sliced avocado pear
- Fresh Norwegian salmon or tuna pieces, all cut into thin slices
- Sushi rice
Preparing the rice:
Cook and cool the rice.
Add sushi vinegar and sugar to taste to the rice and leave for a few hours to stand before making the sushi.
Making of the sushi:
Place some of the rice on seaweed sheets.
On top of this place the avocado pear, salmon or tuna.
Roll everything into a tube and with a bamboo mat gently form the tube into a rectangle.
Cut the rectangle into eight pieces.
For some variety make sandwiches with the same ingredients.
After placing the rice onto the seaweed add some sesame seeds on the first layer of rice.
Turn it over to have the layer of rice and sesame seeds under the seaweed.
Place another layer of rice on the seaweed and then a layer of fish and avocado on top of the rice.
Cut the sandwich in half and place it on top of each other.
With a bamboo mat gently form the sandwich into a neat square.
Cut it in eight pieces, starting from corner to corner.
Eat the sushi with ginger pieces or wasabi after first dipping it into soy sauce.
