The residents of Kwazenzele Informal Settlement took to the streets again at 4am this morning (March 3).
They have been protesting since last week against their ward councillor who promised them houses two years ago and didn’t go through on his promise.
They blocked the road going to Endicott, opposite the informal settlement, with cement blocks and burned tyres to show their disgruntlement.
The SAPS are on the scene to monitor the situation.
Spokesman for the Springs police, Captain Johannes Ramphora, says the crowd still insist on speaking to the metro mayor Mondli Gungubele.
The situation is quite tense at the moment.
Ramphora will inform the Addie of any developments as it becomes available.
