Three armed men threatened to rape a woman during a house robbery in Modder East, on Friday.
At 2.30am, the men allegedly triggered the house alarm, waking the female owner.
The woman noticed a man in her room, who allegedly ordered her to disable the alarm.
On her way to switch it off, two more armed men confronted her in the passage and pointed guns at her.
Springs police spokesman Amanda Greybe says the men took the woman to the main bedroom and threatened to rape her if she didn’t cooperate.
They kicked open the bathroom door to gain access to the woman’s mother’s room.
They found the woman’s mother and two-year-old daughter in the bedroom, and took a handbag, gold wristwatch, jewellery, an identity document and driver’s licence.
Greybe says the trio weren’t satisfied with their spoils and demanded more.
They fled with six more watches, a cellphone, tablet and laptop.
No arrests have been made.
