Road signs in place

Jan Smuts Road was officially closed on Thursday for the construction of the Springs Mall.

At 2pm, the developers placed pointsmen on the corner of Wit and Jan Smuts roads to manage access for their construction vehicles and contractors until the temporary access point is decided on.

According to businessman Stefano D’Arrigo there was some confusion regarding the road closure of Jan Smuts Road.

He says there were two applications that were submitted to council, one of which was for the permanent road closure and the other for the temporary road closure.

The Ekurhuleni Metro has given the developers the go ahead and temporary road signs are in place.
