Take action when you spot a dead animal in the road.

There are many stray animals that move around in towns, Springs is no exception to this.

Over the weekend, the Addie came across a dead dog that seemed to have been run over by a vehicle in Ermelo Road, Strubenvale.

Although the dog’s body was moved off the road and out of the way of more passing vehicles, the animal was left in a bush that could not be seen from the road.

Themba Gadebe, spokesman for Ekurhuleni Metro says they will arrange for the dog to be removed.

Gadebe says the city’s waste management services can be contacted on 011 999 8497/8425 for dead animals to be removed from roads or pavements.

“The dead animals are disposed at the nearest landfill site,” he adds.
