Animal remains dumped in field
Animal skulls and other remains were recently discovered in an open field between the old O'Hagans building and the Springs Country Club.
Springs resident Koos Erasmus says he noticed something white in the field and upon further investigation, he found it was cattle skulls.
Among the skulls, he also found horns and pieces of skin.
While there was no flesh on the bones and no odour, Erasmus was concerned the remains posed a health risk.
According to Themba Gadebe, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality spokesman, a health inspector was recently sent out to visit the site.
He says the skulls and other remains were removed from the property
The metro is pursuing an investigation to find the offender and encourages residents to report illegal dumping or any suspicious activity.
